Description
The Dunlop tyre engineers achieved higher mileage in the Smart Road II through an innovative mixing process and a new generation of functionalised polymers for the production of rubber compounds for the tread. On the rear wheel an MT-tread (Multi Tread Compound) with a particularly wear-resistant mixture is used in the centre of the tread and an extremely adherent mixture is used on the shoulders.
The innovative liquid-polymer technology and the new process also allowed more uniform wear to be achieved, for more consistent handling characteristics over the lifespan of the tyre. The optimized silica dispersion ultimately improves mileage in addition to the adhesion and braking performance in the wet and at low temperatures.
