How are clincher tyres constructed?

As such, when selecting the right clincher tyre you can also take the terrain into account, without having to go for special tyres. In addition, due to their production and the technology used, clincher tyres are cheaper than other tyre variants – if you have to fit your entire family's bikes with new tyres, then this is no insignificant factor.

Practical too: clincher tyres can be easily fitted and removed. With the right expertise, you can quickly fit the tyres yourself. Those who cycle to work are sure to appreciate the ability to quickly change a flat tyre. Clincher tyres are also robust and easy to maintain. In contrast to tubeless models, they do not have to be maintained. With regard to safety in case of an accident, the clincher option also scores points: even in the event of major damage, they tend not to jump off the rims.

And they cannot be folded either. Those who wish to carry replacement tyres with them on longer tours would be better advised to go for folding tyres. When it comes to puncture protection, clincher tyres can no longer always keep up with tubeless variants, but on the other hand, changing them in the event of more significant damage is relatively simple.
